Region launches “WET Challenge” home audit program

The Region of Waterloo has launched a free home audit program to encourage water conservation. The program is called the “WET Challenge” – which stands for water efficient technology – and aims to reduce household water use from an average 200 litres down to 165 litres per person per day.

Homeowners in Waterloo Region are encouraged to do an on-line self-audit at www.regionofwaterloo.ca/wetchallenge and see how much water they are using in the house.  Once finished, the on-line tool estimates water consumption and carbon footprint, and gives lots of information on how to save water and the environment.

If your home uses more than 240 litres per person per day of water, you can qualify for a free home consultation. If you have questions about the Challenge or need to book a free home consultation, call Region of Waterloo staff at 519-575-4400.
