DIY Holiday Wrapping Paper and Cards!

The holiday season is for giving but it is also the time of year when we generate mountains of waste and packaging, most of which ends up in the landfill or the recycle bin. This year, why not plan ahead and do your part to reduce waste? Join us for a family friendly workshop to re-use materials and print your own decorative wrapping paper and cards, and explore some creative gift ideas that reduce and re-use waste.
Sunday December 2nd, 1:00 – 4:00pm
Location: Mill Courtland Centre, Multi-Purpose Room
1:00 – 1:05: Introductions, brief background on waste in KW
1:05 – 1:10: Demonstration of suggested techniques for printing wrapping paper and cards
1:10 – 3:45 – Let’s Create!
3:45: Show and Tell, and brief discussion on other ideas to reduce and reuse waste during holidays
3:50: Clean up, conclusion
- The workshop is free and open to all ages. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- Basic materials will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring along tools or materials they would like to re-use.
We encourage the use of active transportation such as walking or biking. It is also easily accessible by GRT bus routes. If you drive, please consider carpooling with others you know are attending
