Heat Pumps 101: Reep House Series
September 22 | 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Today’s heat pumps can stretch your energy budget
Heat pumps have been around for a long time, so you may have heard of them. But what you may NOT know is that heat pump technology has advanced tremendously in recent years, and has become one of the most energy efficient ways to heat your home.
And heating your home is not the only thing that heat pumps are being used for nowadays. There are now high efficiency heat pump water heaters (like the one we have installed at Reep House) and heat pump clothes dryers on the market as well.
Come to the Reep House for our Heat Pump workshop and learn about all the options, and take a look at our new heat pump water heater. You are also welcome to take part in a short study about your experience with air source heat pumps, feel free to read more here, If you’re interested in taking part, you may fill out this form before you arrive or after the presentation.
Presentation: 1:30 p.m.
Q&A: 2:15 p.m.
Optional Survey & Reep Open House: 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Presenter: Brendan Schaefer, Reep Green Solutions
Brendan Schaefer is the Facilities Manager at the Reep House for Sustainable Living, where he regularly leads tours and workshops on topics ranging from energy efficiency to water conservation, storm water management, and sustainable living. He visits many homes to advise their owners as a Registered Energy Advisor, a RAIN Guide or to conduct visits on how to conserve water.
We encourage the use of active transportation such as walking or biking. The house is just off the Iron Horse Trail and we have a bike rack.
It is also easily accessible by GRT bus routes that use Queen and have stops near Mill St. If you drive, please consider carpooling with others you know are attending.
