TREEmendous Cambridge Walking Tours

Join Cambridge City Green volunteers and Aaron Boonstra, Arborist with Reep Green Solutions, on a walking tour of the TREEmendous Cambridge street trees. Learn about Cambridge City Green’s new tool, “TREEmendous Cambridge” which lets you:

• Look up the biggest ~500 street trees in the city, identify them, and learn about the “ecosystem services” they provide
• Identify ~55,000 street trees and some park and cemetery trees
• Check out the tree canopy percentage on any property or neighbourhood in the city

Aaron Boonstra will lead three walks to see the various large trees along Cambridge streets and talk about urban forestry issues. Cambridge City Green volunteers will demonstrate the TREEmendous Cambridge tool along the way.

Galt – Thursday September 21st 6:30-8pm – park / meet at Lincoln Park parking lot, 14 Vimy St.. Walk will be approximately 2km, some through the turf of the park, with the majority along the sidewalks of the neighbourhood. Limited to 20 people – register at the Eventbrite link. Rain or shine, but in case of thunderstorm the walk will be cancelled.
